Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce David Nieman, PA-C, has joined the medical staff at GMC and Gabert Clinic. He will provide Family Medicine and After Hours Clinic coverage, as well as provide outreach coverage. "We are excited to welcome Dave and his family to our team and to Glendive," Parker Powell, Interim CEO, commented.
Nieman began his medical career as a United States Army Ranger Medic in 1986. He was accepted into the Army Physician Assistant Program and completed his training in 1996. From 1997 to 2006, Nieman served as a primary care provider for over 700 active duty Rangers and their families in the 2nd Ranger Battalion in Fort Lewis, Washington. His work there involved all aspects of patient care including preventive medicine, general family practice and emergency battlefield trauma for wounded Rangers and civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan.
After 22 years in the military, Nieman retired and worked at Sound Family Medicine in Puyallup, Washington, from 2006 until moving to Glendive. There, he covered primary care and served in their walk-in clinic providing care for a wide variety of injuries, illnesses, chronic disease and preventive medical care.
"I am originally from Columbia Falls and have been wanting to get back to Montana for a long time. My family and I are looking forward to this opportunity and are excited about becoming involved in this community," Nieman said.
