Public Encouraged Not To Visit Eastern Montana Veterans Home Due To Respiratory Illness Cases
Glendive News
Glendive, Montana, December 8, 2017 - Eastern Montana Veterans Home (EMVH) of Glendive is asking family and friends of residents to take extra precautions, or if possible, delay their visitation to see their loved ones at this time.
"We are currently taking all proactive measures in managing a respiratory illness that has affected several residents at EMVH," stated Christy Kemp, Administrator at EMVH. "The facility has one confirmed case of influenza and many residents presenting symptoms; an outbreak like this can last a few days or a few weeks." She added, "Please do not bring in small children or immunocompromised individuals".
Kemp advises that if people must visit they need to stop at the EMVH nursing station upon arrival for education on the virus. They will also be issued a mask to wear during their visit. Hand washing is advised when entering and exiting rooms.
EMVH will continue to update the state of the facility daily. Visitors are encouraged to call the nurses station for updates at 406-345-8855.
