Glendive Medical Center To Hold Open House for New GE Pristina Mammogram Sensory Suite
Glendive, Montana, April 10, 2018 - Glendive Medical Center (GMC) will host an open house to celebrate their new GE Pristina Mammogram Sensory Suite on Thursday, April 12 from 6pm - 7pm in the Carney Center, located in the lower level of the hospital. Refreshments will be served along with tours of the newly renovated imaging suite.
"We are very excited to be one of the first facilities in Montana to offer this type of technology and experience for the women in our communities," stated Tarena Haggerty, Radiology Supervisor at GMC, "The GE Pristina features the lowest dose of radiation with the highest quality of 3-D imaging for early detection of breast cancer. The Sensory Suite was carefully designed with soothing wall colors, relaxing imagery and sounds for a calming "Pristina" experience. We feel women will definitely notice the overall comfort and relaxation with their appointment."
The New GE Pristina was made possible with generous donations from the Auxiliary, Glendive Medical Center Foundation, and the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. "We want to thank the Auxiliary, the Foundation, and our friends at the Murdock Trust for their support in purchasing this necessary, life-saving equipment for the betterment of our community. Without their continued support, we would not have the tools we need to continue to offer the highest quality care to our patients", stated Parker Powell, CEO of Glendive Medical Center.
The Auxiliary donated $300,000 towards the purchase of the new GE Pristina. The GMC Foundation was awarded the prestigious Murdock grant for $282,000, and raised $57,916 at the 2016 Grill & Chill Fundraiser.
