Annual Grill & Chill Hits New Record

Glendive, Montana, August 2, 2018 - Glendive Medical Center Foundation reached a new fundraising record at the third annual Grill & Chill with the help of generous sponsors and the community. Total proceeds from the weekend events amounted to over $104,000 which will aid in renovations for the acute care wing of the hospital to benefit patient comfort and healing.
"We are so appreciative of the support from our community and sponsors and are grateful for their generosity and participation at our weekend event," stated Carol Condon, Glendive Medical Center Foundation Director. Angie McPherson and Shelly Christianson were the co-chairs of the Friday event; Tyler Silha chaired the golf outing and Pamela Harr served as Auction Chair. Friday evening included a steak dinner catered by Betsey Hedrick's Badlands Catering along with a silent auction, super silent auction, raffle drawings, and live auction. Local businesses and departments at the hospital donated a wide array of baskets and items for bidding. Kids' games, snow cones, and a popcorn bar appeased families who had children. A deejay and dance concluded the event which was held at the Eastern Plains Event Center. Saturday teed off with an 18-hole golf tournament at Cottonwood Country Club and more chances to win prizes. Scoring was based upon the Lewis System, which uses a ladder system so cash prizes are awarded to golfers at all levels. The following teams placed at the tournament:

Fifth Place Team....$100 Cal's Carpet
"We want to thank everyone who helped make this event successful," stated Parker Powell, CEO of Glendive Medical Center, "We are continually striving to grow our organization and build upon advanced medical services for our community. Proceeds will go towards the first phase of our strategic plan to update comfort measures for including modernizing patient rooms. Our Live Drive this year funded our new Nitrous Oxide machine that allows laboring mothers to safely decrease pain while remaining mobile."
