Annual Grill & Chill a Success despite Modified Event
Glendive Medical Center Foundation held a successful fifth annual Grill & Chill despite having to suspend the family barbecue and auction. With the help of generous sponsors, the community and golfers, total proceeds for the silent auction, raffle, and golf tournament amounted to nearly $60,000. Proceeds raised will be put towards new, state-of-the-art beds for patients in Acute Care.
“We are so appreciative of the support from our community and sponsors and are grateful for their generosity and participation,” stated Jaime Shanks, Glendive Medical Center Foundation & Marketing Director, “It shows the giving spirit in our community is alive and well and patients will benefit greatly from this generosity.”
The Grill & Chill typically includes a family-friendly barbecue, live auction, and silent auction on Friday evening and then the golf tournament on Saturday. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the event was scaled down to just the golf tournament, silent auction, and raffle with social distancing and hygiene guidelines enforced.
“We want to thank everyone who helped make this event successful,” stated Parker Powell, CEO of Glendive Medical Center, “We are continually striving to grow our organization and build upon advanced medical services for our community. Proceeds will go towards the second phase of our strategic plan to update comfort measures for patients including modernizing patient rooms.”
