Annual Hospital Fundraiser Narrowed to Golf Tournament Only This Year

Due to COVID-19 restrictions for gatherings, Glendive Medical Center Foundation has made the decision to cancel the dinner and live auction, typically held on the Friday evening of the fundraising weekend, and host only the Saturday golf tournament this year for the annual Grill and Chill fundraiser. The golf tournament will be limited to 18 teams and will be held at Cottonwood Country Club in Glendive on Saturday, July 25th at 9 a.m.

The Grill & Chill is Glendive Medical Center’s largest fundraiser and proceeds from sponsorships, team registrations, raffle items, and a silent auction will go towards new, state-of-the-art beds for patients in Acute Care. “Our current beds are over 15 years old and are wearing out,” stated Jaime Shanks, Foundation Director, “Comfort is vital to healing and the new beds are designed for exceptional comfort and safety for patients. They are also equipped with technology to assist caregivers in patient care, including built-in scales for weighing patients.” Glendive Medical Center plans to purchase beds for all Acute Care patient rooms as part of a strategic plan for necessary upgrades in the hospital.

The Golf Tournament is an 18-hole best ball scramble with a shotgun start. The winning teams will receive $300 for first, $200 for second, $150 for third, and $100 for both the fourth and fifth place teams. Four teams have already signed up, leaving 14 team spots open. If an individual does not have a team but would like to golf, they will be paired with a team. Golfers will need to register no later than July 17th. Early registration is encouraged. Golfer registration is $50/person or $200/a team of four people. Teams may pay by cash, check, or credit card on the day of, or before the golf tournament.

The Golf Tournament will feature a grab-n-go breakfast, delicious BBQ lunch prepared by GMC Catering, and free snacks and beverages throughout the course. The golf tournament will be a fun time for golfers with plenty of games, prizes, and raffle and silent auction items. The Winner’s Choice raffle tickets will be sold again this year and are available for $100 each. The lucky winner of the raffle will have their choice of one of twelve high dollar vacation packages or a $5,000 gift certificate towards a golf cart of their choice from B&B Sales and Service in Sidney, MT. Only 100 will be sold and the winner will be drawn at the golf tournament. Winner need not be present to win. Raffle Tickets will be available for sale at American Bank Center, McPherson Dental, Sandcreek Dental, Glendive Public Library, and the Glendive Medical Center Foundation & Marketing Office (located at 202 W. Ames Wye) until sold out.
