Glendive Medical Center (GMC) announced Jenny Steben, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) as the newest provider to join their Behavioral Health team. Jenny joins a growing team of behavioral health providers at GMC and specializes in inpatient treatment. “I chose to work at GMC because of the opportunity the inpatient unit can provide, and am looking forward to establishing a practice with patients in the area. I can diagnose and treat a variety of mental health illnesses including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, and PTSD.”
Jenny was born and raised in Iowa and during her time in nursing school, she was drawn to mental and behavioral health. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University in Illinois and then her Master of Science in Nursing for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Walden University in Minnesota. She has over 14 years of experience with nursing and behavioral health and values caring for patients from all walks of life.
“I like to be challenged professionally and I wanted to provide care in an underserved area,” states Jenny, “After visiting GMC, we really liked how friendly everyone was and that the hospital has an inpatient behavioral health unit, which is one of my passions. It became clear this was the move we needed to make.”
Jenny and her husband Josh, along with their four children recently moved to Glendive from Iowa. They are an outdoorsy family, and her oldest daughters like to ride horses and are looking forward to joining 4-H and rodeo. They are excited to explore the area and enjoy Montana’s hunting and fishing.
“We are fortunate to have Jenny join our team at GMC,” stated Parker Powell, CEO, “she has a caring and positive attitude and brings a wealth of experience to help with the mental health crisis in eastern Montana.”
